Prospective Students:  Orientation


A one day session will be held with a focus on two key goals: cultural adaptation and work-site expectations and goals. Topics
to be covered include:

Cultural Preparation Topics:

  • Mainstream U.S. Culture
    • The Stereotyped American

  • Cross-Cultural Adjustment Process

    • Strategies for a Successful Experience Abroad

    • Here's to Your Health

     

Work-Site Topics to be covered include:

  • Expectations: the student's and the supervisor's

  • Explanation of how the student will be evaluated

  • Benefits to the student, the internship (i.e., host site) supervisor and the faculty sponsor
